Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins is expected to be available and ready to play the full game against Manchester City, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.
The Villans play host to the Citizens after both teams dropped points over the weekend against Bournemouth and Tottenham respectively.
Watkins, who was a risk before the game against Bournemouth, played the full 90 minutes and even managed to find the back of the net.
Speaking about his injury, Dr Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, told Villa News: “Really difficult to give worst-case scenario without knowing more information but generally it would’ve been that he plays and suffers a significant injury that was related to that pain.
“However, he did play the 90 minutes over the weekend and came out unscathed.
“Whatever minor issue he had ahead of the Bournemouth clash appears to have been dealt with so he should be ready for the upcoming games.“
Watkins has been in red hot form under Unai Emery this season and will once again be the focal point of the attack against City.
The 27-year-old has scored eight goals and provided six assists in 14 league appearances – averaging a goal or an assist every game.
Against City, every chance they get is going to be crucial and with Watkins in the side, Emery will be even more confident of getting something from that game.
