Aston Villa ace Ramsey injury news v Arsenal shared by Doctor
We’re delighted to welcome injury expert Dr Rajpal Brar as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the injury situation at Aston Villa...
- Aston Villa attacking midfielder Jacob Ramsey will not be starting against Arsenal on Saturday, 9 December, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.
The injury expert claims that given his age and potential, the club are going to be methodical with his return from a long-term setback.
He’s been given minutes off the bench for the first team and recently even played in the 1-0 victory over Manchester City.
Speaking about his injury, Dr Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, told Villa News:
“Hard to say when he’s going to play a full 90 but it seems some way away because it all depends on how he’s responding to minutes and to training.
“Considering this was a reinjury and he’s a highly talented youngster, expect the club to be very methodical with his return, making sure to take careful note of how he’s responding to training and match minutes.
“He played five minutes recently so it could be an indicator that he’s still a while away from being ready to start games.”
While Unai Emery will be delighted to have Ramsey back, there will be no rush to get him ready to start in the Premier League.
The Villans have an established group of 13-14 players that end up playing in every game and it’s resulted in Villa breaking into the top three.
Ramsey was a first-team regular last season and it remains to be seen how many starts he gets this term once he’s back to full fitness.
