Cleveland Browns defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz has a long history with Ndamu kong Suh.
The Cleveland Browns, facing the loss of Maurice Hurst Jr. to a season-ending injury, must bring in former All-Pro Ndamu kong Suh to fill the void.
Hurst signed with the Browns this offseason and earned a spot in the rotation with his solid play. He had 22 tackles, 1.5 sacks and 4 tackles for a loss this season.
The big man also intercepted and defended three passes. Hurst played 39 percent of the defensive snaps and also contributed on special teams.

The Browns’ options to replace Hurst are limited at this point in the season. But one big name lurking as a free agent is Suh, who the Browns have been linked to before.
According to former Detroit News columnist Terry Foster, the second overall pick in the 2010 draft was looking to make a return and contacted several teams.
“Suh contacted the Lions about playing here, but he also contacted four or five other teams,” Foster said Dec. 10 on “The Woodward Heavy weights” podcast. “So he made the first offer to come here. Suh has been in Detroit a lot in recent months. He has investments here.
He embraces this community more than when he was a player, because when he was a player he wanted to leave here.” The Lions weren’t interested in landing Suh, according to Foster, but the Browns might be and fit the criteria of what he’s likely looking for.
Cleveland is in the midst of the AFC playoff race and boasts the best defense in the NFL, with Jim Schwartz leading the way.

He is 36 years old, but last season he showed that he can still make a valid contribution, even in a minor role.
He signed with the Philadelphia Eagles midway through the 2022 season and has played just over a third of their defensive plays since his arrival. Suh earned an overall Pro Football Focus grade of 64.2. Dalvin Tomlinson and Jordan Elliott are the current starters for the Browns.
However, Elliott is dealing with a concussion and it is doubtful that he will be able to dress this week. The news regarding Hurst was the latest in a series of painful injuries for the Browns.
Offensive players Jedrick Wills Jr. and Dawand Jones will both miss the remainder of the season. Additionally, starting safety Grant Delpit is a candidate for injured reserve.
Despite their 8-5 record, injuries marred the Browns’ season. Quarterback Deshaun Watson (shoulder), Pro Bowl running back Nick Chubb (knee), receiver Jakeem Grant (knee), linebacker Jacob Phillips (pectoral muscle) and safety Rodney McLeod (torn biceps) are all absent this year.
