Wolves player sold for £500,000 suggests he should have played more at Molineux
Connor Ronan expressed his frustration over his lack of minutes at Wolves shortly before leaving the club for MLS in January.
The 25-year-old left Molineux in January this year after a nine-year spell at the club. Ronan has had several loan spells after making his debut for Wolves in December 2016.
His best performances came at St Mirren, where the midfielder was named Player of the Season after a brilliant season in Scotland.
After that season, Ronan was then observed by Bruno Lage in preparation.
The manager decided to keep him but barely played him and Ronan left Wolves in January 2023 to join Colorado Rapids in a £500,000 deal.

Ronan appeared on the Wolves Weekly podcast to explain how his exit from Wolves happened.
He talks about the St Mirren loan and how he found himself at a crossroads at the time.
He felt it was his last chance to become a regular at Wolves and knew he really had to make an impact in pre-season.
He did, and Lage kept him on, but Ronan only had a one-minute appearance against Brighton in November and just one further appearance against Leeds United in the Carabao Cup.
Ronan said of his lack of minutes: “In my opinion, I did enough in pre-season to justify staying. Obviously, regardless of my level, I was on the bench most weeks in the Premier League, but I just wasn’t getting the minutes.
You just have to be happy to be in this kind of environment.“I think the frustration always comes from a lack of playing time, no matter what level you play at. I would say my time at Wolves was perhaps the most frustrating for me.
Not that I felt like I should have played every week. I just wanted the chance to prove myself, I never stopped trying in training, I always gave 100%, no matter what I thought people would say about me.
Ronan deserves more chances at Wolves Ronan comes across very well in his conversation with Mikey Burrows and it is clear that he is extremely grateful to Wolves.
It’s interesting to hear him talk about leaving the club. Lage, Steve Davis and Julen Lopetegui probably should have given him a lot more chances.
Wolves have had a very poor start to the 2022/23 season and there was certainly scope for players who weren’t playing as much to join the team.
Ronan had clearly just returned from an excellent loan spell at St Mirren, and it was a bit of a travesty that he only got two games for Wolves in the 2022/2023 season before leaving halfway through.
