The Arizona Cardinals now consider Budda Baker questionable.
ARIZONA – In a late addition to the injury report, the Arizona Cardinals are adding Budda Baker as questionable due to illness.
The Cardinals host the San Francisco 49ers today at State Farm Stadium. It’s unclear exactly what’s going on with Baker. This story will be updated as more information becomes available.
Baker has played eight games so far in 2023 and spent some time on injured reserve after suffering a hamstring injury in mid-September.
The Cardinals are just 3-10 this season and have suffered a barrage of injuries on both sides of the ball. Baker has 58 tackles to his name.
That’s clearly not good news for an Arizona team looking to potentially upset the 49ers, who have won their last five games.
They’ve already clinched a playoff spot and can secure the NFC West later today with a win over Arizona. “I thought they were really tough at the start of the year.
I thought we had to play clean on offense to beat them, but it was a very close game. Since then, they have played how many games, nine more games.
“They play very hard, they play together. “They added some really good players, especially [Arizona Cardinals S] Budda [Baker], that they didn’t have,” 49ers coach Kyle Shanahan said earlier this week.
George Kittle added:” They have a new coaching staff, but if you watch the tape now, they are flying and playing the defense that their coach wants them to play and they are playing at a very high level.
It’s completely different from almost every other defenses that you see around the league, the way they run all their coverages, the way they use Budda Baker.
And then when you throw a guy like Budda in their defense and they’re all about it, they say: “I play really good defense.”
Also listed as questionable are Krys Barnes (ribs), Marquise Brown (heel), Blake Gillikin (back), Geoff Swaim (back), Elijah Wilkinson (neck) and Michael Wilson (neck).Official inactives must be expected 90 minutes before kickoff, scheduled for 2:05 p.m. Arizona time.
