”Murphy’s clearance to play in 2024 will be a big boost for senior coach Craig McRae and his team, who are likely to have lost key forward Dan McStay for the entire season due to a recent cruciate ligament injury front in training.
The Magpies currently have three roster spots available and could open up a new vacancy by moving McStay to the long-term injury list.Collingwood brought in ex-esseren Josh Eyre and VAFA League footballer Sam Sofronidis during the additional selection period as potential backline reinforcements.The pair still managed to gain roster places with the Magpies despite Murphy’s permission.
