However, since they are seeded number 5 in the playoffs, this week’s game will not has no impact on the playoffs and, as a result, the Browns will see some players sit and rest for the playoffs.On Friday, after the final practice of the week, the Browns named some of the players who will not take the field Sunday, including defensive end Myles Garrett.
Garrett, who is on the rest list along with quarter back Joe Flacco (head coach Kevin Stefanski announced Flacco would rest Wednesday), will have a week off to rest his body for the Wild’s next playoff game Card.
With Flacco out, the Browns will start newly added quarterback Jeff Driskel.
With Garrett out, some guys in the defensive rotation will see more reps on Sunday, including Alex Wright.Wright said he’s ready to take a step further and try to get a win to end the season because for them it’s just another game like any other week.”It’s just the next game.
But when you have guys in this room, we trust each other on the field and at the end of the day we put together a great game plan for Sunday,” Wright said. “We don’t care that this is the last match of the season.
We only look ahead and we should have got to 1-0.”Other players not present Sunday include kicker Dustin Hopkins, who is still dealing with a hamstring injury, wide receiver Amari Cooper, who is dealing with a heel injury, cornerback Greg Newsome II, linebacker Anthony Walker Jr., the safety Juan Thornhill and cornerback Mike Ford Jr.Meanwhile, several other players are listed as questionable with injuries.
Punter Corey Bojorquez, wide receiver Marquise Goodwin, linebacker Jordan Kunasyzk and wide receiver Elijah Moore are all in question for Sunday’s game.
TheBengals, who have already been eliminated from the playoffs, still intend to field some starters like Ja’Maar Chase and Trey Hendrickson.
