The Cleveland Browns have had one of the best rushing attacks in all of football for each of the last two seasons, in large part thanks to Browns offensive line coach Bill Callahan.
Unfortunately, Callahan will be joining his son, Brian Callahan, who was hired as the new head coach of the Tennessee Titans, leaving a vacancy for the offensive line job in Cleveland.
Former Browns offensive lineman Joe Thomas is not only one of the best offensive linemen of all time but also one of the best players in the history of the franchise.
On paper, he would be a great fit for the vacant job in Cleveland. However, in a discussion with Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com, Thomas shot down the idea, saying that he will not coach in the NFL until his kids are at least in college, if ever.
“I’m not interested at this point,” Thomas told Cabot. “I won’t be interested in NFL or college jobs until my kids are at least in college. Maybe not even then, but certainly not until then.”
Considering his kids are still in grade school at the moment living in Munich, Germany, it makes sense why Thomas wouldn’t want to commit to an NFL coaching job at the moment. It also means that he won’t dive into NFL coaching for quite some time, if at all.
