Vikings’ Justin Jefferson wants to ‘break the bank’ in next contract
The Vikings have no excuse to not give Justin Jefferson what he wants on his next deal.
Since entering the NFL in 2020, Justin Jefferson has been the epitome of a big money receiver for the Minnesota Vikings.
He now wants his contract to reflect that.When asked about his contract, Jefferson didn’t hold back. “I want to bust my nets and be a part of an organization that really wants me and gives me what I deserve,” he said on Mad Dog Sports Radio.
The star expressed confidence that the team that drafted him 22nd overall after four other wide receivers had already been knocked off the board would prove him right.
“I feel like at some point the Vikings will do what they need to do to get me in the building, but I’m not sure right now, only time will tell. “Jefferson, the Vikings have not yet reached an agreement Jefferson has done nothing but deliver for the Vikings since his release from LSU.
In his first three seasons in the NFL, Jefferson made three Pro Bowls, was named Offensive Player of the Year, was named first-team All-Pro once and second-team All-Pro twice .
Despite only playing in ten games in 2023 due to injury, Jefferson set the record for most receiving yards in a player’s first four seasons. The Vikings have already exercised the star’s fifth-year option, so Jefferson will definitely be a Viking in 2024.
However, no agreement has yet been reached on a long-term extension. When asked if he would be willing to offer his services to other NFL teams, Jefferson expressed a desire to stay with the only NFL team he has ever known.“I mean, I’m really grateful for what Minnesota has done for me.
I definitely wouldn’t be in this situation if they hadn’t picked me. With everything that’s happened and everything I’ve given to the organization, I obviously want to stay and that’s why I’ve called it home since I came into the league.
