Former NFL player D.J. Hayden lost his life in a car crash in Houston on Saturday morning, according to reports. 33-year-old Hayden was among the six individuals killed in the incident. The fatal collision occurred when a black Chrysler 300, reportedly speeding and running through a red light around 2 am (local time), collided with a black Acura SUV that had the right of way, as reported by the Houston Chronicle. The devastating accident claimed the lives of multiple individuals.
Hayden had a notable career as a cornerback at the University of Houston. He was drafted in the first round by the Raiders (12th overall) in the 2013 NFL draft.
In the wake of the tragic car crash in Houston, the Houston Police Department reported that four individuals, including Hayden’s former teammate at the University of Houston, Zach McMillian, were pronounced dead at the scene. Four others were swiftly transferred to the hospital, with two succumbing to their injuries, and one woman facing life-threatening conditions.
