The Boston Celtics haven’t had the smoothest sailing since returning from the All-Star break, but they appear to be hitting their stride right as the playoffs approach. However, one concern that will linger on the minds of Boston fans are recent comments made by Jaylen Brown that threw his future with the team in doubt. That isn’t the first time Brown’s future with the Celtics has come into question, and while he hasn’t come out and said he’d like to stay with the C’s, he did provide a reassuring take recently when discussing the situation.
As arguably the top duo in the NBA, speculation surrounding Brown and his partner-in-crime, Jayson Tatum, isn’t exactly uncommon. But Brown saw his name pop up in Kevin Durant trade rumors last offseason, and considering the fact that he’s in the middle of the best season of his career, he could be looking to lead a team of his own rather than finding himself in a 1A-1B situation with Tatum where he is almost always the 1B option.
But in the clip above, Brown doesn’t seem too worried about the constant speculation surrounding him currently. Given the success that he and Tatum have had early on in their careers, it makes sense that there is going to be a media narrative wondering whether or not they want to play together in the long term. But by saying their destinies are intertwined, it seems like Brown wants to win with Tatum and the Celtics.
