Lille OSC is gearing up for their forthcoming European campaign, having been selected to participate in the UEFA Champions League next season. Although there are still many questions over Paulo Fonseca’s future and those of other important players like Leny Yoro, Jonathan David, and even Edon Zhegrova, Ismaily’s (34), future at LOSC is now certain.
The Brazilian left-back has participated in 38 games in all competitions this season since moving to the Stade Pierre Mauroy from Shakhtar Donetsk in August 2022. Ismaily is still an important member of this Lille team despite his advanced age. But his deal with the team was scheduled to expire at the conclusion of the present season.
Ismaily has agreed to a one-year contract extension with LOSC, which will keep him with the team through the conclusion of the next campaign, according to an official announcement from Les Dogues. With LOSC’s goal differential being only two goals higher than Stade Brestois, a victory over OGC Nice on Sunday should be enough to secure the club’s podium position and a spot in the Champions League group stage for the next season.
