Aston Villa are ready to let summer signing Samuel Iling-Junior leave the club on loan before the transfer window closes in the coming days, according to Express & Star.
The England youth international joined the Villans on a permanent deal as part of a double transfer from Juventus alongside Enzo Barrenechea, which saw Douglas Luiz move in the opposite direction despite the three deals being separate transactions.
Iling-Junior was left out of the Villa matchday squad that faced West Ham United on Saturday in their opening Premier League game of 2024-25, and with competition for playing chances in his positions fierce, the Midlands club are open to allowing him to leave on loan.
Lewis Dobbin has left for West Bromwich Albion on a season-long after joining Unai Emery’s side from Everton in June, and Iling-Junior could follow suit as long as a deal will help his development and growth.
The 20-year-old has both Ian Maatsen and Lucas Digne ahead of him at left wing-back, while Jacob Ramsey, Morgan Rogers, Emi Buendia and John McGinn available options to Emery on the left side of the attack.
As a result, Iling-Junior needs to leave for where he can get regular game time, and some Championship clubs will be willing to recruit his services for the campaign given his versatility and quality.
He has the talent to break into the Villa first-team going forward, and they will keep monitoring his progress going forward.
