However, upon returning to England, Barry noted a distinct difference in training environments. “I’ve experienced some very low standards in training sessions back home,” he remarked. “It’s frustrating because I know what’s possible when everyone is fully committed. The level of intensity can sometimes drop, and it makes it hard to improve.”
Now playing in League Two with Wrexham, Barry is eager to apply the lessons he learned in Spain. He views his time at Barcelona as foundational to his development, but he recognizes the need for a different mentality in the English game. “At Wrexham, I’m surrounded by players who understand the fight in lower leagues. There’s a different kind of grit and determination, and I’m learning to adapt.”
