LeBron James Issues Heartfelt Message On The Tragic Passing of Johnny and Matthew Gaudreau
NBA superstar LeBron James was quick to share a heartfelt message in regards to the tragic passing of NHL forward Johnny Gaudreau and his brother.

Thursday night, Columbus Blue Jackets forward Johnny Gaudreau and his brother Matthew were tragically struck by a car while riding their bikes at night in Oldsman Township, New Jersey.
According to the New Jersey State Police, the driver of the vehicle, Sean M. Higgins, struck them from behind, and they were pronounced dead at the scene. They suspect the driver was under the influence of alcohol and has been charged with two counts of death by auto.
The brothers were in town for their sister’s wedding that was scheduled for Friday in Philadelphia. Absolutely heartbreaking news all the way around, and NBA icon LeBron James was quick to send his condolences to the Gaudreau family.
“Insane man! . I instantly got so downand sad after reading the story. My thoughts and prayers goes out to the Gaudreau family! May Johnny and Matthew fly high, guide/guard and bless their family/s from the heavens above.” James said via X.
The Blue Jackets released a statement on the unimaginable loss of the Gaudreau brothers.
“The Columbus Blue Jackets are shocked and devastated by this unimaginable tragedy. Johnny was not only a great hockey player, but more significantly a loving husband, father, son, brother and friend. We extend our heartfelt sympathies to his wife, Meredith, his children, Noa and Johnny, his parents, their family and friends on the sudden loss of Johnny and Matthew. Johnny played the game with great joy, which was felt by everyone that saw him on the ice. He brought a genuine love for hockey with him everywhere he played, from Boston College to the Calgary Flames to Team USA to the Blue Jackets.”

Johnny Gaudreau was entering his 11th season in the NHL and his third season with the Blue Jackets. He was 31 years old, while his younger brother was just 29.
