Danny Stutsman Pledges Loyalty to Oklahoma: “I Would Do It All Over Again 100%”
Oklahoma linebacker Danny Stutsman has no regrets about returning to the Sooners for his senior season, despite the challenges of Oklahoma’s first year in the Southeastern Conference (SEC). In a recent media appearance, Stutsman expressed his unwavering pride in the team and the university, affirming that he would make the same decision again if given the chance.
Reflecting on the 2024 season, Stutsman highlighted the resilience and determination of the Oklahoma squad, especially in the face of adversity. “Since January, we’ve shown up every single day,” he said. “We’ve worked our tails off. At the start of the season, we had a lot of adversity with players getting injured. We had tough decisions, and a lot of young guys had to step up and get thrown into the fire. We’ve had a lot of freshmen play, and I’m really proud of the fight in this team. We never gave up.”
Oklahoma’s debut season in the SEC presented a series of challenges, with tough losses and growing pains along the way. However, Stutsman’s dedication to his teammates and the program remains unshaken. “I would do it all over again 100%,” he said, acknowledging that while the season didn’t unfold exactly as the team hoped, the experience of competing in some of college football’s most storied stadiums against the best competition in the world was invaluable.
Looking back on his four years with Oklahoma, Stutsman shared a heartfelt reflection on his journey. “I remember coming in as a scrawny three-star just trying to get on the field,” he recalled. “From where I am today, it’s been a lot of hard work. I couldn’t have done it without my teammates, the strength staff, and Coach Venables. I’m just happy to be a Sooner. It’s one of the proudest things I could ever say. I’m proud of this university and everything it stands for.”
