Jack Beckman, the celebrated NHRA driver, has shared an emotional message about the overwhelming love and support he’s received from the John Force Racing family following his recent health scare. Beckman, who has deep ties to the Force family, including a longstanding connection with Frank Hawley’s Drag Racing School, was deeply touched by the outpouring of care from John Force, his wife Laurie, and their daughters – Ashley, Brittany, and Courtney.
Beckman, who spent 11 years as a full-time instructor at Frank Hawley’s Drag Racing School, where he mentored over 7,000 students—including members of the Force family—expressed how much the Force family means to him. “John Force and I are a family,” Beckman shared, reflecting on the special bond he’s built over the years. “It’s hard to explain the level of support and love they’ve shown me. Laurie and the girls have been a part of my life for so long, and I was there for them just as they’ve always been there for me.”
Over the course of his illustrious career, Beckman achieved 33 NHRA tour wins and a series championship during a 15-year run with Don Schumacher Racing, which concluded in 2021. Despite leaving the full-time competitive scene, Beckman’s relationship with the Force family has remained a cornerstone of his career and life. His impact as a mentor and teacher, particularly at Hawley’s school, has left a lasting legacy within the sport.
Reflecting on his connection with the Force family, Beckman added, “The Force family is so much more than just colleagues or friends—they’re my second family. The love and support they’ve shown me through everything, especially now, is something I’ll never take for granted.”
As Beckman recovers from his recent health issue, including a hospital stay due to vertigo, he’s grateful for the strength he’s drawn from his racing family, especially John Force and his daughters, who have been by his side in the aftermath. Beckman is now focused on moving forward, putting the health scare behind him, and looking ahead to his future in drag racing.
