The Carolina Panthers have officially responded to Cam Newton’s call to sign Colorado Buffaloes quarterback Shedeur Sanders ahead of the 2025 NFL Draft.
Newton, the former Panthers star, recently expressed concerns over Sanders limiting what NFL scouts see before the draft. Despite this, Sanders is set to throw at the 2025 Colorado NFL Showcase, giving teams one last look before making their draft decisions.
Panthers’ Response
While the Panthers acknowledge Newton’s stance, team sources indicate they are not currently pursuing Sanders before the draft. However, Carolina remains in the market for a quarterback after a disappointing 2024 season, and Sanders could still be in play if he falls in the draft.
A Panthers spokesperson stated:
“We respect Cam’s opinion, and Shedeur is a talented young quarterback. Right now, we’re focused on our draft evaluations and free agency decisions.”
What’s Next?
With the draft approaching, Sanders’ performance at the Colorado NFL Showcase will be crucial in determining his draft stock. While Carolina may not be making a move now, all eyes remain on the young quarterback as teams finalize their selections.
