TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (WIAT) — A community is speaking out after a fatal shooting led to the deaths of two teenagers in Tuscaloosa over the weekend.
At around 11 p.m. Friday, the Tuscaloosa Police Department responded to the 2200 block of Reece Boulevard on a reported shooting and car crash.
Upon arrival, officers located an SUV crashed into a home. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger was transported to DCH Hospital, where he later died from his injuries. It’s believed both victims were shot before the driver crashed into the home.

LaQuindia Davis is the homeowner of the Reece Boulevard residence that was struck by the SUV. She’s thankful her 17-year-old son, who was home at the time, was uninjured and is concerned with gun violence in her neighborhood.
“Things can be replaced, this house can be replaced and I am thankful my son and myself are ok,” Davis said. “My sincere condolences and prayers go to the families who lost their loved ones during this terrible and senseless crime. It’s heartbreaking, I’ve never experienced anything like this before and I wouldn’t wish this upon anyone.”
City Councilman Matthew Wilson says he is working hard with city leaders and law enforcement to stop these violent crimes from happening.
“This is an outrage to our community and our city. To that neighborhood, please know that I and the Tuscaloosa Police Department, our council and our mayor are going to do everything we can to put every perpetrator into jail who commits a crime,” Wilson said. “We will not allow this type of behavior to continue to exist in our community.”
A third juvenile has been arrested by TPD and charged with felony murder and first-degree robbery in connection to the case. Detectives determined the shooting was connected to an attempted robbery.
