1. Introduction of the Entry/Exit System (EES)
Starting in October 2025, the EU will implement the Entry/Exit System (EES), which aims to enhance border security by electronically recording the entry and exit of non-EU travellers.

In the final quarter of 2026, the EU plans to launch the European Travel Information and Authorisation System (ETIAS).
