Mikaela Shiffrin is recovering from her injury. The progress coming out of the two-time Olympian after undergoing some of the major injuries last season will finally see its end. Sharing her comeback announcement on social media, the skier updates her fans with a video of hers, highlighting her ongoing training and practice sessions. Adding to the video was her caption that reflects out on her return to ski.
Carrying hopes to chase her 100th World Cup win at the Killington Cup, Mikaela didn’t know that her participation could end her up in a two-month setback. It was during the second run of the 2024 Women’s World Cup Giant Slalom skiing race where the skier was faced with an unexpected crash during her performance that left her to face a severe abdominal injury.
Giving a detailed description of the incident, Mikaela mentioned suffering an abrasion on the left hip while performing a flip when she felt that something stabbed her while sliding into protective fencing: “Not really too much cause for concern at this point, I just can’t move. I have a pretty good abrasion, and something stabbed me. I’m so sorry to scare everybody. It looks like all scans so far are clear.”
Away from her professional career since the 30 December incident, Mikaela Shiffrin’s comeback is indeed praiseworthy. With her return, her fans have been giving out major support to Shiffrin.
