EDMONTON — It’s time to turn the pageAfter losing 3-2 in overtime to the Arizona Coyotes, the Edmonton Oilers will look to move on tonight. Last night’s effort saw stand out performances from Calvin Pickard and Evander Kane.
Pickard stopped 25 of 28 shots over the entire game – including two phenomenal stops in overtime. Kane contributed an assist on both of the Oilers goals.
onight will be a battle for the top of the Pacific Division. The Oilers are three points behind the Vancouver Canucks, while having one game in hand. If the Oilers win all four of their remaining games this season, they will finish first in the Pacific. If the Canucks win, they will only need to earn one more point to secure first – regardless of what the Oilers go with their three games after.
The Oilers will be without their superstar forward, Connor McDavid. He has been day-to-day for several days now, and has missed the past two games against the Coyotes and Vegas Golden Knights.
In Kris Knoblauch’s own words, “Connor [McDavid] will not be playing tonight. With the advice from the doctors its’ best just to wait and see.”
The health of McDavid is vital to the Oilers Stanley Cup Playoff run. The Stanley Cup means more than a couple more points in the regular season – even if first in the Pacific Division would be nice.
