    NFL Draft 2024: Which prospects have become more intriguing options for the Browns as the draft nears?

    CLEVELAND, Ohio — We are down to the final days before the start of the 2024 NFL Draft. The Browns now have six picks after picking up a seventh-round pick from the Titans for offensive tackle Leroy Watson IV.

    As we get closer to the draft, there are always players that catch your eye that you may have missed the first time or two in player evaluation. That doesn’t necessarily mean they are better or worse than when you first looked at them.

    Browns signing running back who played with Deshaun Watson in Houston

    CLEVELAND, Ohio — The Browns continued adding to their run game on Wednesday, agreeing to terms with former Bears running back D’Onte Foreman, a league source confirmed for cleveland.com.

    Foreman, who turns 28 next month, rushed for 429 yards and scored four touchdowns in nine games for the Bears last season.

    He joins a room that includes newly signed running back Nyheim Hines this offseason and returning runners Jerome Ford and Pierre Strong Jr. behind Nick Chubb, who is rehabbing from a gruesome knee injury suffered in the Browns’ Week 2 loss in Pittsburgh.

    Foreman started his career in Houston alongside Deshaun Watson after the Texans selected him in the third round in the 2017 draft. He played just 11 games in two seasons with the Texans after rupturing his Achilles during his rookie season. He returned to the field in Week 16 in 2018 and played in one game as well as the Texans’ wild card loss to Indianapolis.

    The Texans moved on from Foreman the following offseason.

    He sat out the entire 2019 season after the Colts waived him the following August when he suffered a torn biceps, then spent parts of two seasons with the Titans and one with Carolina, rushing for 1,575 yards over 32 games in those three years, including 914 yards with the Panthers in 2022.

    Foreman finished second in the NCAA in rushing yards in 2016 when he ran for 2,028 yards at the University of Texas, finishing behind San Diego State’s Donnel Pumphrey’s 2,133 yards.

    The Texans selected him 89th overall.

    The Browns expect Chubb to return as their starter after he underwent two surgeries on the same knee he injured while he was at Georgia, the most recent surgery in November to repair the torn ACL suffered when Steelers safety Minkah Fitzpatrick hit him in the second quarter.

    He had the torn MCL, torn meniscus and torn medial capsule repaired in late September.

    The Browns running back room also features a new coach, Duce Staley, who took over for Stump Mitchell.
