Wes Unseld Jr. had been in charge since 2021
In his two-and-a-half seasons at the helm, the team’s record has been 77-130, a 37.2 percent winning percentage, which has dropped to 16.3 percent in the current campaign.
His third season was the final straw for the franchise who only had the lowly Detroit Pistons below them in the league standings to this juncture.
Wednesday night the Wizards fell 107-118 to the Minnesota Timberwolves in what proved to be the final loss of Unseld Jr.’s tenure, although he won’t leave the team entirely.
