Kate Garraway bravely held back tears on Thursday’s edition of Good Morning Britain as she engaged in a heartfelt exchange with showbiz legend Anita Harris.
Anita Harris, the Carry On star aged 82, graced the ITV programme to discuss her newly released tribute song dedicated to her late husband, Mike Margolis, and to support Alzheimer’s Research UK
The song aims to bring solace to those grappling with the challenges of Alzheimer’s, reinforcing the message that “they are not alone”.
The interview took an emotional turn when Anita, who mourned the loss of her spouse Mike a year ago, offered words of comfort to Kate, 57, whose husband Derek Draper sadly died earlier this
year.
In a touching moment, Anita expressed: “How precious this moment is to see you after seeing you go through everything and darling, Ed, you’re wonderful for all the viewers.”
“But for me, I was a bit parallel with you [Kate] darling, but we’re not here to, we’re here to bring joy” while Kate firmly replied: “We’re not going to cry, we’re not going to cry, are we? We’re not going to cry because we want hope.”
As the interview drew to a close, the pair shared another tender moment, with Anita commenting: “I hope everything’s good for you and the young ones” seemingly referring to Kate’s children, reports the Mirror.
Kate announced the death of her husband at 56 in January following his prolonged struggle with the aftermath of Covid.
