Aston Villa have the opportunity to overtake both Manchester City and Arsenal in the Premier League on Sunday as they make the trip to face Ipswich Town.
A win over newly-promoted Ipswich would also see Aston Villa go level on points with Liverpool at the top of the table as Unai Emery‘s side continue to impress.
With a 2-0 Villa Park loss to Arsenal the only blip on Villa’s record this season, they will be very confident that they can secure another three points against an Ipswich side on just three points who are yet to win since promotion to the top flight.
To add to this, Emery will undoubtedly be targeting a first league clean sheet of the season for Villa as this has been the only real concern to the club’s start to the season.
One player who should help with that once fit is club captain Tyrone Mings and he has posted an intriguing message ahead of the Ipswich clash.

Villa have been without Mings since the opening day of the last Premier League season where he suffered an ACL injury in a 5-1 defeat against Newcastle United.
The absence of their captain has made Villa’s achievements over the last year all the more impressive and Mings is now edging towards a return after a long road to recovery.
He was one of three players to suffer an ACL injury last season, as Emi Buendia and Boubacar Kamara also both suffered from rotten luck to sustain the same injury.
Mings is a real ambassador for the club and has travelled to Ipswich, as shown by a post on his Instagram story in Sunday morning of the view from his hotel with the five-word message: “This place in the sun.”

Whilst it is exciting to see Mings travel to Ipswich, any fans hoping his post means he could feature will be left disappointed.
Emery confirmed ahead of this weekend that Mings and Kamara are both training with the first-team but will not be rushed back.
Villa have had success in managing Buendia’s return through a series of under-21 appearances and that is the next step for both Mings and Kamara next week.
Mings started his career at Ipswich, playing 63 times for the Tractor Boys, so it is likely his post was simply in reference to that.
