Aston Villa are preparing for their mouth-watering showdown against Bayern Munich in the Champions League.
Aston Villa overcame Young Boys 3-0 in their first Champions League match but playing against Vincent Kompany’s Bayern Munich is a different kettle of fish.
Bayern have made a near flawless start to the campaign with six wins out of seven in all competitions, including a 9-2 drubbing of Dinamo Zagreb.
Former Tottenham striker Harry Kane has unsurprisingly played a pivotal role at the beginning of this season, with the 31-year-old plundering an impressive 10 goals in seven matches.
There were concerns surrounding the strikers’ fitness, though, as Kane limped off with an ankle injury in the draw against Bayer Leverkusen, which left his chances of featuring at Villa Park in doubt.
However, a fresh update has since emerged on the Englishman, who will hope to lead the line against Aston Villa.

Reacting to the injury he suffered on Saturday evening, Kane provided a positive update to Bayern supporters, as he assumed he’d be fit to play against Villa.
Many will have felt that was wishful thinking but that hope has now been turned into reality as the ‘world-class’ forward was spotted training on Tuesday with the rest of his teammates, per Bayern’s official website.
That will be music to the ears of Kompany, who will no doubt select his extraordinary talisman to lead the line, while it also sets up an intriguing battle with Aston Villa’s centre-back duo of Ezri Konsa and Pau Torres.
Konsa knows Kane well having played alongside him while on international duty with England. The 26-year-old must conjure up all his knowledge and defensive expertise to prevent the Bayern striker from impacting the game, although that is easier said than done.

During an incredible decade in the first team at Tottenham, Villa experienced first-hand how difficult it was to stop arguably the best striker on the planet.
Kane flourished against most defences in the Premier League, putting 15 past Leicester City – the most he’s scored against one team – while netting eight in 13 against Aston Villa.
The Englishman scored on his last meeting in the 2022/23 campaign, a consolation penalty in a 2-1 loss for Spurs.
That win was the catalyst for Emery’s men to finish in seventh and as a result, qualify for the Europa Conference League.
Now, presuming Kane does start on Tuesday night, Villa be aiming to shut down Bayern’s unstoppable scoring force while securing a famous victory.
