It’s disheartening when something you love is damaged, and that’s how I feel about my bike. She’s been my companion on countless adventures, from long rides through the countryside to quick trips around the city. However, she recently sustained an injury—a broken chain, a bent wheel, and some serious wear and tear that can’t be ignored. It’s as though she just couldn’t go on any longer, like she’s been silently bearing the weight of miles of hard pedaling and rugged roads.
The bike has been more than just a mode of transport; she’s been a source of freedom, health, and joy. The thrill of zooming down a hill, the satisfaction of conquering a tough climb, all those moments are now on hold. Knowing that she can’t be ridden in this state feels like a deep loss.
It’s going to take time to repair her, and while she’s in the shop, there will be no early morning rides or sunset spins. But I’m hopeful that, after some care and fixing, she’ll be back on the road again, ready for more journeys.
