Breaking News: Arkansas Offensive Lineman Amaury Wiggins to Enter Transfer Portal in Search of Redemption
Arkansas offensive lineman Amaury Wiggins has announced that he will enter the transfer portal following the Razorbacks’ 28-21 loss to Missouri in their regular-season finale on Saturday. The redshirt sophomore from Florida, who has spent the past two seasons with the Razorbacks, made the decision public on Sunday.
Wiggins, a 6-foot-3, 310-pound offensive lineman, originally transferred to Arkansas from Coffeyville Community College, where he was named First-Team Kansas Jayhawk Community College All-Conference in 2022. After joining the Razorbacks, Wiggins saw action as a backup center. His notable appearances this season came in a win at Mississippi State, where he stepped in for an injured Addison Nichols, and during the Razorbacks’ victory over UAB, where he played 65 snaps at center. Wiggins also contributed in the season opener against Arkansas-Pine Bluff.
In his debut 2023 season, Wiggins played in only two games but has been part of Arkansas’ offensive line depth chart during 2024. According to Pro Football Focus, he earned offensive grades of 58.3 in 2023 and 60.0 in 2024, reflecting his steady but unspectacular performances.
Wiggins’ decision to enter the transfer portal comes as the Razorbacks face an offseason of change. He becomes the second player to announce his intentions to transfer, joining wide receiver Davion Dozier, who will also explore options when the transfer portal officially opens on December 9. Former tight ends Ty Washington and Var’keyes Gumms, both dismissed from the team earlier in the season, will also enter the portal.
The Razorbacks, whose season now turns toward bowl preparations, will find out their bowl destination on December 8. With several roster changes looming, Arkansas will continue to adjust as it looks to build for the future under head coach Sam Pittman. For Wiggins, this move signals his quest for a fresh start and an opportunity to showcase his talents at a new program.
