Jarvis Hayes Jr. talks Georgia, Xavier offers and updates his recruitment
Jarvis Hayes Jr. is ten games into his sophomore year at College Park (GA) Woodward Academy. The 6-foot-5 shooting guard has started the season 8-2 and is averaging 12.3 points while shooting 48.6 percent from the field.
“I have good teammates who can create shots for me,” Hayes told On3. “So, I’m ready for my opportunities to catch and shoot. My confidence has really developed this season. We have a good team, and I know I can shoot the ball and make things happen.
“Jayson Tatum is my favorite player, so I watch a lot of his shot creation. I know I can shoot the ball, so I watch a lot of what he does and play it to my game.”
On3 caught up with Jarvis Hayes Jr. after a recent live viewing to discuss the latest in his recruitment.
“Right now, I have offers from Tulane, Georgia, Xavier, Georgia State, and some others,” Hayes said. “I’ve been on campus at Georgia already.”

GEORGIA: “I went on an unofficial visit there this summer. It was nice. My dad went to Georgia, so I’ve already been to a couple of games. But the football game, against Auburn, they stadium was so loud. I liked it there. The atmosphere was great. It was so loud, everyone had their shirts off and were painted red. It was a good experience.
“They have great facilities there, very nice. Very, like, high tech. They have a lot of materials there and a lot of areas and space to shoot and get your body right.”
