He was also only allowed to play 31 minutes as a substitute against Red Star Belgrade and Manchester City in the Champions League.
The Liverpool loanee faced tough competition for places from Dani Olmo and Xavi Simons, with Leipzig manager Marco Rose insisting earlier this week that he would continue to work hard to get a making the most of his chance to shine.
