Despite the rash of injuries plaguing the Browns’ roster this season, Kevin Stefanski has his team at 8-5 and closing in on a playoff berth
Regardless of what fans feel about Browns coach Kevin Stefanski, within the walls of the team’s Cross Country Mortgage Facility in Berea and deep inside Cleveland Browns stadium, Stefanski has nothing but support.
Do not you believe it? Look no further than one of the Browns newest members, safety Juan Thornhill.
After being scratched with a calf injury minutes before kickoff of Cleveland’s game against the Jaguars, Thornhill was booked to watch his team’s 31-28 victory from the sideline.
Hours after the win, the Super Bowl champion took to X to share his support for Stefanski.
Objectively speaking, Stefanski has done a pretty remarkable job of keeping his team on track considering the overw helming number of injuries it has overcome.
The injury epidemic began in week one when the team saw starting player Jack Conklin suffer a season-ending knee injury.
A week later, the same thing happened to star running back Nick Chubb. From there, Cleveland lost starting quarterback Deshaun Watson while playing four different QBs this season.
Starting left tackle Jedrick Wills is currently on IR, while reserve right tackle Dawand Jones also missed Week 14 with a knee injury and has been on and off the roster this season.
The constant replacement of players has made it nearly impossible to find a consistent rhythm, but against all odds the Browns are 8-5 and straight into the playoffs, the season ended today. Thronhill isn’t the only defenseman lining up to sign Stefanski’s praise.
Star pass rusher Myles Garrett expressed similar sentiments toward his head coach during his postgame press conference. “With everything that changed throughout the year, the pieces coming in, going out and being traded, he did a great job and we answered the call,” Grrett said.
“He put us in different positions to compensate for some injuries and he made different decisions and plans that we’re trying to adapt to, but that means we’re trying to take advantage of what’s ahead of us.” in many advantageous positions and he works hard.
The proof is in the pudding. There was a lot more good than bad from the Browns head coach.
Against all odds, he has this team believing it can win every game, no matter who starts at quarterback or what recent injuries have derailed one phase or another of the game.Who knows where Cleveland would be without him this season.
