Aston Villa set for ‘massive loss’ as two players ruled out v Sheffield United
We’re delighted to welcome Aston Villa podcaster Ty Bracey as our exclusive Aston Villa columnist each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at the club…
Unai Emery confirmed in his pre-match press conference on Thursday (21 December) that the Spanish international will miss the clash at Villa Park through injury.
The centre-back will be joined on the sidelines by Belgian midfielder Tielemans after he has missed the past two matches as the congested fixture list begins to take its toll on the Villa players.
Bracey believes the 26-year-old duo will be “huge misses” for the Villans as they aim to pick up a victory over the Blades that will propel them up to the top of the Premier League table.
Speaking exclusively to Villa News, Bracey said: “Tielemans obviously hasn’t featured too heavily, but Pau is a massive loss.
“He’s come in and filled the boots of Tyrone Mings perfectly. I don’t think we could ask for more. He adds far more than just defensive qualities to that starting lineup.
“His long balls and passes are very much a part of our playing style, so he’s a huge miss definitely for Pau.
“But we’ve got Lenglet, so I think under Unai Emery we’ll be just fine. I’m not stressing too much, but they are of course huge misses in my opinion.”
