Catchers selected by Phils: William Simoneit (A’s), Louis Calcutta (D’s) and Carson Taylor (Dodgers); and outfielders Trevor Showpiece (Blue Jays) and Bryson Ball (Guardsmen).
They also lost lefties Rafael Marcano (Twins) and Kalyani Kilgore (Royals), and righties Carlos Betancur (Astros) and Blake Brown (Rays). On July 25, in Los Angeles, artist Tommy John underwent ulnar nerve transposition surgery.

They initially tried a conservative rehab course at the advice of Elattra, who worked closely with Painter’s doctors and agent Scott Boras.
