We’re back with the results of our SB Nation Reacts poll from this week on the Minnesota Vikings, and this week’s question gave us some interesting insight into what Purple fans want to see in the 2024 NFL Draft .
This week we presented a scenario. It’s draft night and Kwesi Adofo-Mensah will take a quarterback in the first round, but he hasn’t yet reached the top three picks to secure the services of Caleb Williams, Drake Maye or Jayden Daniels. We now look at the next group of quarterbacks and ask who you would want from the Vikings in such a scenario.
Here are those results: Our readers’ top choice was Michigan star J.J. McCarthy, who received 36% of our readers’ votes.
Jim Harbaugh, who has since moved on to the head coaching role with the Los Angeles Chargers, coached McCarthy and the Michigan Wolverines to a national championship last season and now says people wouldn’t be surprised if McCarthy was the first overall pick.
I mean, he may not be the first player ever, but I think you have to admire his confidence.
But he is the Vikings fan favorite in the scenario we presented. Our pair of Pac-12 passers had a close battle for second and third place, but the lead went to Oregon’s Bo Nix, who received 28 percent of the votes.
Michael Penix Jr. from Washington garnered 26% of our readers’ selections in this film. What interests me more than anything is the 10% of people who would choose a different quarterback in this scenario. . .or maybe not at all with a quarterback.
If you think there is a quarterback outside of the six already mentioned that deserves a first-round pick, please let us know who it is in the comments section.
Those are our SB Nation Reacts results for this week, ladies and gentlemen. We’ll come back here in a few days with another question.
