Nearly 10 years have passed since he was released by the Green Bay Packers.
Former NFL wide receiver Myles White is returning to Lambeau Field, this time as part of his former team’s coaching staff, according to John Brice of Football Scoop.com:
White, most recently passing game coordinator and wide receivers coach for Chuck Martin’s Miami (Ohio) team, joins the NFL’s Green Bay Packers as an offensive assistant.
Former Green Bay Packers WR returns White played for the Green Bay Packers during the 2013 NFL season, playing in seven games and recording 66 receiving yards with no touchdowns on nine receptions and twelve targets.
He initially signed a three-year, $1.48 million contract with the Packers in April 2013, but was released a year later. He returned to the Packers in 2015 as a reserve, but never saw the field again for the team.
The same year, he joined the New York Giants and played twelve games for them, recording 88 receiving yards and a touchdown on seven catches and 20 targets.
While he won’t land a major coaching role with the Green Bay Packers, this could be just the start of a potentially bright NFL future for White, who played college football with the Bulldogs from Louisiana Tech. Before being hired by the Packers, White was the wide receivers coach for the Miami (Ohio) Redhawks.
